According to AA’s internal data, approximately 5% of people who attend one AA meeting are still attending at the end of 1 year.  Of those there are a certain percentage that have remained abstinent. Additionally there is another group of people who went to AA for a period of time, became abstinent, left AA but remained abstinent and give AA the credit for their ongoing abstinence even though they are no longer “working the program”.
