What is Freedom Model Coaching Certification?
Freedom Model Coaching Certification is a professional training program that teaches you how to help people move beyond substance and/or behavioral addictions permanently using The Freedom Model’s research-based, completely non-12-step, empowering approach. It equips laymen, coaches, therapists, and other professionals with the tools to guide clients through self-directed change without labels, recovery, or lifelong treatment or a need for perpetual addiction-help support; students/clients solve their issues and move on.

Where is the Freedom Model Coaching Certification Program Offered?
The Freedom Model Coaching Certification Program can be completed from anywhere in the world as it is offered through an online platform. All live class sessions will have options that take into consideration time zone differences.
How long is the Coaching Certification Program?
The certification program is an 10-week course.
When is the Coaching Certification Program offered?
The Coaching Certification Program is offered at various times throughout the year.
How much time will I need to devote for the coursework?
We estimate that the coursework will require approximately 8 – 10 hours per week for a 10 week period to completion/certification.
Is there live training with the Founders, Mark and Michelle?
Yes, in addition to the video tutorials and study guides, there are live group training sessions as well as individual training sessions included in this program. Once your certification is completed, Founders, Mark and Michelle will also be available for your students through the Freedom Model Online Program (FMOP). FMOP is a component of the licensed coaching package offered by our certified coaches to their students, and FMOP was designed specifically for post-session longer term support as well. Within FMOP’s curriculum are 3 group Live Coaching Sessions with both Mark and Michelle as the coaches. Your students will have direct tutelage by the FM Founders! Know this – we are here for you and your students!
Is there Professional Support after Certification?
Yes, Mark and Michelle provide ongoing mentorship to the coaches via monthly live question and answer sessions as well as private consultations by appointment (there may be a cost for private post-certification training sessions). And again, Founders, Mark and Michelle are there for your students as well through the post-session support module known as FMOP (see previous answer above for more explanation).
Do I get access to The Freedom Model Online Resources after completing Certification?
Yes, you will maintain a Freedom Model Online account where you will have unlimited access to The Freedom Model Certification Program materials, The Freedom Model Online Program and Solution Workshops for as long as you maintain your certification.
Will my clients have access to The Freedom Model Online Program and Workshops?
Yes, in order to offer Freedom Model Coaching, your clients will need access to The Freedom Model Online Program and The Solution to Addiction Workshop. As a certified FM Coach you will have a license for these products, and will have the privilege to have them as the cornerstone of your coaching offerings and packages.
How long is my Certification valid and what is the recertification process?
To keep your Freedom Model Coaching Certification current you must recertify annually. We will offer recertification classes 2 times per year. This will allow you to sign up for the date that best fits your schedule. You may also elect to set up a private meeting to discuss any questions or concerns.
How much does The Freedom Model Coaching Certification Program cost?
The cost of the Freedom Model Coaching Certification Program in 2026 is $7,500.
When determining the price, we had two options:
- Create a low-cost, fully self-guided online certification program with minimal personal interaction — allowing for unlimited enrollment but limited support.
- Limit enrollment and provide an expert-led, deeply involved training experience that includes live group training, individualized guidance, and ongoing mentorship after certification.

We chose the second option — because truly effective Freedom Model Coaches need more than just coursework. They need real-time training, thoughtful discussion, and direct access to us throughout and beyond the program. Our goal is to ensure every certified coach is confident, prepared, and capable of delivering lasting results.
